The Universal Pre-K Program will allow your 4 year old child (by December 1st) 2
1/2 hours of instruction, 5 days per week for the entire school year. Each month
has a new theme.

Blocks Center
Reading Center
Writing Center
Circle Time Science Center
Art and Craft Center
Listening Center
A typical day consists of:
The children sign themselves in first; then read books with
their friends.
Circle Time: Students practice the weather, counting, reciting the alphabet and
calendar. Then all children participate in brain gym.
Directed Center Choices: Students choose to go to a center at this time. Center
choices change throughout the week, and the activity is based on the theme of
the month.
Center choices are: Art, Science, Math, Small Motor, Housekeeping, Blocks,
Writing, Reading, or Listening.
Closing on the Day: The students will listen to a short story and teacher reads
about Alley Cat or Deputy Dog and his experience with a student on the previous
day.

Field Trips
The students have the opportunity to travel to different places throughout the
school year. Students can go to the ballet, a play, a Children's Conference,
pumpkin patches, and month trips to the Conkling School to go to the Library.
Conkling School
Students take field trips to Conkling School to visit the UPK library and see
Mother Goose. Mother Goose teaches the children dance, songs and poems. She
helps develop their social skills and song development.
Annual Tea Party
The students have the opportunity to perform one nursery rhyme of their choice
during the annual Tea Party.
The Wrap Around Program:
Our hours are from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This program is designed for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. There is a variety of fun activities scheduled weekly. Each month has a new theme. Your child's first learning experience starts here at The North Utica Community Center!

A typical day consists of:
Breakfast, then literacy review, story time, theme activities and outdoor play (weather permitting) and centers.
Our hours are from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This program is designed for children ages 3 - 5. There are activities scheduled daily. Summer is always fun at the North Utica Community Center!
Includes: Jungle Mania Week A typical day consists of: The children's morning starts with breakfast, circle time, learning centers, and then out to our fenced-in playground complete with sand and water table. |

The Before and After School Program:
Before care starts at 7:30 AM. After school care starts at 2:30 and runs until 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Our Before and After School Program is for children ages 5 - 12. Your children will love it here, throughout the school year at the North Utica Community Center!

A typical day consists of:
Each morning, the children receive a nutritious breakfast before boarding the bus for their day at school. The after school program starts with an after school snack, then homework or center time. (Centers range from legos, indoor sand and water, games, play-doh, computers, daily crafts, exercise, outdoor play and much more).
Our hours are from 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday. This program is designed for children ages 5 - 12, and runs for 10 weeks. Our summer program has activities scheduled daily. Special events are also part of the program. At the North Utica Community Center, each day of Summer is fun!

A typical day consists of:
The children's day starts with breakfast, morning welcomes, then off to the pool. After returning from the pool, it's lunch time. After lunch, the children participate in Drop Everything and Read. There are arts and crafts on a daily basis, along with plenty of outdoor activities. The week ends with a "Water Day".
